Welcome to the Oak Grove learning community! I am ecstatic to have the opportunity to continue to lead Oak Grove School as principal for another year! I am looking forward to partnering with all of our stakeholders in order to continue to support and improve the dynamic learning environment of Oak Grove. Our focus is educating the whole child and our goals include academic excellence, engagement in the arts, the development of life skills, celebrating diversity, and stewardship of the environment. Our students are challenged in a safe, caring environment that encourages innovation, risk taking, and perseverance. I am proud to be a part of a staff that provides academic as well as social emotional growth for every student. The Oak Grove staff and learning community always maintain a student first mindset. We value the traditions at Oak Grove and are striving to evolve and provide innovative practices which will prepare our students for the future.
I know our staff and learning community will work collaboratively with great pride, purpose, and vision to ensure the educational success of every student at Oak Grove. Together we will communicate, share ideas, create and foster educational experiences, and encourage critical thinking and risk taking so that our students can learn and grow. I am excited to embark on another year of innovation, reflection, and learning with the students, staff, and families at Oak Grove.

OAK GROVE UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT VISION STATEMENT
The Oak Grove Union School District, in partnership with the community, will be a model of world-class education that develops the unique abilities of every student.
Oak Grove has a long history as the second oldest continuing school district in California.
A one room school district was established in the 1850’s to serve families in a rich agricultural area.
Today, The school has an unusual configuration. It is a traditional public school at kindergarten and a charter school at grades 1-5. The charter status provides flexibility for directing fiscal resources towards the greatest needs. Oak Grove is a school of choice with 35% of students residing outside of the district boundaries. Parents choose the school because of our sense of community created through parent and community involvement in the arts program, and the environmental ethics that pervades school practices.
